We are a registered community partner within the US Department of Agriculture's Nutrition Communicators Network, and a member of Michelle Obama's "Chefs Move to Schools" Program. Healthy Hands Cooking follows a "Best Practices Shopping Guide" that you can view here. Our "Just A Taste" Class is a 2-Hour introductory class that gives kids a chance to try our service at a nominal charge. Our 8-Hour Core Program teaches kids how to make healthy snacks, breakfasts, lunches and dinners for themselves. This is a great starter program for any child aged 5-13 who is looking to help with a family meal or just learn some important kitchen skills and build confidence in the kitchen. Advanced Classes are available to all students who have been through the 8-Hour Core Program (prerequisite) and will continue to help build nutrition and healthy cooking skills. Summer Day Camps and Birthday Parties are fun programs to engage your kids. Our Eat Fresh, Move More Program is an after school program currently in development and expected to launch in August 2014. This program is made up of 3 1/2 hours of daily curriculum that combines nutrition, games, fun fitness, cooking, and homework assistance time led by caring, self-employed adult instructors. When kids are picked up by their working parents, they have not only met the daily recommended level for physical activity and homework, but have also been fed healthy foods while learning some critical hands-on cooking and nutrition skills. |
_Classes are held on-site in school classrooms, church kitchens, gyms, sports clubs, and homes across the country by fully trained Healthy Hands Cooking Certified Instructors in partner facilities.
